Neil Berger

As a young man, I was always very active…I played sports, was a regular at the gym, and constantly on the move. After marriage and children, I was focused on being a great father and provider for my family. This left little time for myself, and I slowly began missing workouts, eating unhealthy foods, and falling into generally bad habits.  I had reconstructive surgery on my back and knees, leaving me with chronic pain that was treated with opiates. I spent the next 18 years sitting at a desk for 10+ hrs. per day in anguish, inactive, pre-diabetic, and discouraged with my condition.

The results were devastating…I felt awful in both mind and body, which made it difficult “showing up” for the people I loved. Certain life events put me in a position where I could either continue this unhealthy routine or evolve and make fundamental changes to my life. I chose the latter and began my own health and wellness journey. With motivation, education, support, and perseverance, I transformed not only my physical appearance, but moderated my pain, managed my anxiety, and became healthier & happier on the inside.

I know my story is not unique, so I resolved to change careers and concentrate on helping other people with similar challenges. This inspired me to establish Evolve Yoga & Wellness, to provide the community with a safe space where people at all stages of their health journey can find the encouragement and resources they need. 


Neil Berger is a RYT-200 yoga instructor and certified Health & Wellness Coach. He founded Evolve Yoga & Wellness in December 2023 with a simple mission…to provide an inclusive, community space where people can learn about health, develop fitness objectives, explore spiritual practices, and receive support for their wellness journey…regardless of where they are today. While Neil first found yoga in the 1990's, it was not until he personally experienced its potential for physical and mental healing, that he left a 25+ year career to focus on assisting others with their health and wellness objectives. Neil believes in a comprehensive approach that focuses on nutrition, lifestyle, attitude, and exercise.
