Angelique Sandas

Angelique Sandas is a lifelong student of movement and the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit. Angelique received her B.A. in dance from the University of Minnesota, graduating in 1999. It was during these years that she was first introduced to yoga where movement became a path to profound inner transformation.

In 2003, Angelique traveled to Thailand to study with Paul Dallaghan in the Ashtanga yoga system as taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and received her 200 hour teaching certification. She has also studied pranayama and yogic philosophy with Sri O.P. Tiwari of the Kaivalyadhama Institute, India, advanced anatomy and adjustment training from David Keil of Miami, FL, and 300 hour training with Greg Nardi of Ashtanga Yoga Worldwide.

In 2007, Angelique was drawn to deepen her experience with yoga and took her first trip to Mysore, India to study with the head of the Ashtanga lineage, Paramaguru R. Sharath Jois. Returning to the states, Angelique worked closely in the Ashtanga method with Kino MacGregor as well as Tim Feldmann and Greg Nardi as an instructor at Miami Life Center from 2007-2012.

She continues her studies with Paramaguru R. Sharath Jois and during her 2011 visit to Mysore, India, Angelique received Authorization to teach Ashtanga Yoga.

Throughout the years that Angelique has been a devoted practitioner and committed instructor of yoga, she has experienced the inevitable, natural, but challenging ebbs and flows of life. Yoga practices have always been a source of strength, inspiration, healing, and transformation for Angelique and sees it as her life’s purpose to share those benefits with others.
