Sharon Sabga

What inspired you to teach? What is your Why?” What is your story?

I don’t teach yoga because with my hyper-mobility and without the resistance we have in

Pilates, yoga hurts my joints. I was extremely sick from 22 to 26 in a wheelchair, and I didn’t use the left side of my body for about four years. Pilates really rehabbed me in a way Yoga didn’t and still doesn’t. So now my love of yoga is for the yummy, delicious breathing into my body kind of movement, although I still need to be careful without the resistance.

Many of my clients come to me wanting more flexibility, and I remind them; what they

have is stability and that flexibility is not all it’s cracked up to be because those of us who

are so flexible often have less stability.

What do you teach?

My days are divided between teaching, and healing. Both ways I help others connect to a

higher self. Their highest self or their highest mind, etc. I teach wholeness, body, mind and

spirit. I teach people how to deeply connect to themselves: Pilates, dance, barre, Reiki,

meditation, breathwork, bodywork, nutrition, and somatic therapy are the modalities I

choose to work with. These are chosen, intentionally to bring about balance and wholeness.

Mostly with all these tools in my tool kit, it allows me to not have an agenda and be present

with another, neutral. When it comes to Pilates, safety is my number one, which is why I

love to focus on proper technique to ensure a proper foundation. This allows me to support

the integrity and wholeness of what I practice.
